Requirements for Customer Parts

Use our Checklist for Customer Parts to ensure that the goods are delivered correctly.

To ensure high-quality and correct production of your electronic assemblies, it is important that you observe a number of points when providing materials to customers. Incorrect or insufficient customer provisioning, if not observed, will result in unnecessary costs for Newmatik and for the customer, as well as significant delays.

Newmatik maintains inventories for all customer provision parts, which can be viewed by the customer in the portal at any time. For each part, we keep an article number which is either automatically incremented (e.g. Mustermann GmbH → K-MUG-0001 to 9999) or where the customer article number is used (e.g. 30.123.0014 → K-MUG-301230014). K- here stands for "customer provision part" and "MUG" is our exemplary customer code for "Mustermann GmbH".

In a nutshell – whats most important

  • Customer article number and counted quantity on each container (reel, stick, cut-tape, tray).
  • SMD components cannot be accepted as bulk material.

If these minimum requirements are not met, the material cannot be processed by us and must be returned to the customer.

Delivery Note

  • Send a delivery note with each delivery, clearly identifying customer item numbers and total quantities delivered.
  • For requested missing parts, please always include the Newmatik material request number ("MREQ"), which you will receive from your business manager so that we can properly allocate the delivery in goods receipt.
  • When providing components for an order, include our order confirmation number ("SO").

Component Marking

  • Customer part number and quantity must be marked on each package (reel, stick, cut-tape, tray). If, for example, the customer delivers 5,000 pieces of a component in 2 reels of 3,000 and 2,000 pieces, we do not book 5,000 pieces, but 3,000 + 2,000, since we give each package its own batch number. The prefix (e.g. K-MUG-) does not have to be printed if the customer has unique customer article numbers (e.g. 30.123.0014).
  • The customer must ensure that the components are marked with the correct customer article number. We rely on the customer article number, any discrepancies of article designations or manufacturer and manufacturer article numbers are not checked by us.

Component Quantities

  • Component quantities must be delivered counted by the customer. We do not verify or count the quantities stated, but rely on the customer's count.
  • In the case of SMD components with small packages, there is additional consumption during kitting of the pick-and-place machines and during production. The customer must provide additional components over and above the actual quantity required to avoid production-related missing parts.

Extra consumption depending on SMD package:

  • Very small chip packages (e.g. 0201, 0402): 2.0% + 10 pcs.
  • Small chip packages (e.g. 0603, 0805, 1206, Micromelf): 1.0% + 5 pcs.
  • Small diodes (e.g. SOD532, SOD323, SOD12): 1.0% + 5 pcs.
  • Small IC packages (e.g. SOT23, SOT23-5, SC70): 0.5% + 3 pcs.

Example: Package type 0805 in 2 orders of 250 pieces each = 500 pieces actual requirement quantity + excess consumption of 15 pieces (500 x 1% = 5 pieces + 5 pieces + 5 pieces) = delivery quantity of 515 pieces.

Bulk material

  • SMD components cannot be supplied as bulk material because this cannot be processed by the pick-and-place machines.
  • THT components may be delivered as bulk material because we populate them manually.

For components on sticks

  • If components are delivered in sticks, the quantity contained in the stick be indicated on the respective stick, as we book each individually.
  • For components in sticks, the customer must ensure that the components are delivered in the correct stick size.
  • The customer must ensure that the components in the sticks all have the same, correct polarity (direction in the stick).
  • Please bundle sticks of the same material together (e.g. with a rubber band).

Moisture-sensitive components (MSL)

  • Moisture-sensitive components must be clearly marked as such.
  • The "Moisture Sensitivity Level" (MSL 1 to 6) of the component must be clearly marked on the component.
  • We assume that moisture-sensitive components are delivered by the customer dried and ready for immediate processing. If the components are to be dried by us, this must be clearly marked by the customer. We charge €25 for drying an MSL component.

Other

  • Please do not deliver rolls in an extra bag. Bags are discarded by us because they interfere with production, labels from the customer that were on the bag are then no longer available.
